LUBBOCK, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' track and field started its season Friday at the Texas Tech Red Raider Invite at the Sports Performance in Lubbock.

Senior Sydney Tencate ran an 11:40.43 in the 3000 meters and had a 5:47.94 mile.

Jessica Eastham ran a 1:03.49 in the 400. She also ran a 1:41.24 in the 600Y. Baley Green had a 1:06.81 in the 400 and a 1:41.22 600Y.

Destani Warner led the team in both major sprints with a 27.57 200 and an 8.32 60. Kennedy Connor competed in both sprints, running a 28.61 200 as well as an 8.51 60.

Julianna Taylor finished with a 29.10 in the 200 and an 8.90 60. Zada Washington ran a time of 29.47 in the 200.

Lauren Franklin put up an 8.97 in the 60 and a 10.52 60H. Lauren Stokes had a time of 2:00.14 in the 600Y and a 3:08.98 800.

The Cowgirls' next event will be on Jan. 26 at the Weilert Invite in Norman, Oklahoma.
