SAN ANGELO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed in the David Noble Relays at Angelo State with a record day from freshman
Aiden Seekins.
Seekins placed second overall in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:10 for the Cowboys. He broke the previous record held by River Smith at the old mark of 10:11.
Garret Rothans led the Cowboys in the high jump and finished first at the meet with a jump of 6-6 ¾ ft.
Nathan Mangual had a top finish at No. 7 in the shot put for the Cowboys with a throw of 45-6 ¾ ft.
Evan Hanson scored ninth place at the meet in the discus for HSU with a throw of 137-5 ft.
Katie Baller took home third overall in the Cowgirl high jump with a clear of 5-3 ft.
Joshua Carpenter threw 142-4 ft. for Hardin-Simmons in the javelin throw. Rachel Nordt had a javelin throw of 78-11 ft. to lead the Cowgirl team.
Adan Santoyo finished in eighth place in the 400m at Angelo State to lead the Cowboys. Santoyo ran a lap of 49.67 for Hardin-Simmons on Saturday. He also led the team in the 200m and placed third with a time of 22.24.
Donovan Simmons ran a 10.82 second 100m dash for the Cowboys to lead the team. Simmons finished No. 8 in the 100m at Angelo State.
Chris Freeman had a 400m hurdle time of 1:0 for the Cowboys to finish inside the top-10.
Hardin-Simmons will take Cowboys and Cowgirls across town to compete next weekend at the Warhawk Classic hosted at McMurry on Friday and Saturday.
