ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl outdoor track and field team had top finishes all over the heat sheet at the War Hawk Classic hosted by McMurry on Saturday.
The 4x100m relay team of
Haley Smith, Jacqueline Berry,
Danielle Pena, and Kylah Washinton came in second overall at the meet with a time of 48.59, a second off the Cowgirl record.
Smith finished second in the long jump with a 17-9 ½ ft. leap for Hardin-Simmons.
Madisyn Taylor,
Katie Baller, and
Janae Green each cleared the 5-2 ¼ ft. mark to place third overall in the high jump.
Kylah Holland ran the leading tie in the McMurry 3k steeplechase at 11:45.
Berry finished fifth with a 15.50 in the 100m hurdles for HSU. Washington came in fourth with a Division III top-25 100m dash time of 12.01.
The Cowgirls compete next at the Corky/Crofoot Shootout at Texas Tech on May 2-3 in Lubbock.
