Hardin-Simmons University

Floyd is in his fifth season as a full-time coach for the Cowboys and his third season coaching the secondary.

Last year, HSU led the ASC in interceptions with 13 last year and had the top-ranked passing defense and total defense. The Cowboys had a pair of first-team All-ASC defensive backs last year in Harrison Foster and Micah Henderson. Foster was also named an All-American. Mike Akinbisola was named second-team All-ASC. 

In his first year in the full-time role, he had two first-team All-ASC defensive backs in Harrison Foster and Mike Akinbisola. Mason Cravens was second-team all-league, and Jaymarcus Wilson was honorable mention all-ASC.  

He played at HSU from 2015 to 2019. He spent one season at the University of Arkansas and then served as a graduate assistant at HSU before joining the full-time staff. 

The Amarillo native has a bachelor’s degree from Hardin-Simmons in business administration and economics and a master’s of business administration from HSU.

He married former Cowgirl soccer standout Caitlin Christiansen in March of 2023.
