SHERMAN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team won their eighth game in nine tries this season 55-44 in a game at Austin College on Sunday afternoon to make it eight wins in a row for head coach

Hardin-Simmons trailed early before cutting into the deficit down 28-25 to the Kangaroos at the half. The Cowgirl defense clamped down in the second half and only allowed six made buckets by Austin College after halftime. HSU outscored the opponent 30-16 in the final two quarters to win the game.
Dylan Koele went for 16 points at Austin making 4-for-6 shots from beyond the arc to lead the HSU offense.
MaeSyn Gay scored 12 points shooting 5-for-11 from the floor.
Jacqueline Berry scored nine points, had ten rebounds, three steals, and navigated the offense with seven assists for the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirl defense finished with four blocks, five steals, and forced 12 Kangaroo turnovers in the win. Hardin-Simmons won the rebounding battle 41-35 over Austin College as well.
The Cowgirls move to 8-1 on the year after dropping the opener and will play at home against McMurry on Saturday, Dec. 13 in the Mabee Athletic Complex with tip-off at 1 p.m. in Abilene.
