ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball sophomore Jacqueline Berry was named a 2025-26 NCAA Division III Preseason All-American by D3hoops.com, announced on Wednesday.

Berry returns in her second season for the Cowgirls after a D3hoops.com national Rookie of the Year season as a freshman in 2024. She led Hardin-Simmons and the American Southwest Conference in scoring with 13.9 points a game and scored the most points ever by a freshman Cowgirl with 376. Berry was named the ASC Freshman of the Year as well as all-ASC first-team, all-defensive, and all-freshman.

"Berry had an incredible first season in our program as a freshman last year. Her speed and athleticism are separators for her on the court, but she is also a great teammate and an extremely hard worker," said Hardin-Simmons head coach Kendra Whitehead. "She continues to get stronger and grow her game in multiple ways. It's going to be fun to coach her and watch her play this season!"

Berry shot 45 percent from the field as a freshman and finished ranked second in the conference in rebounding with 190 total boards, averaging seven rebounds a game. She also led the conference in steals with 63 while playing small forward.

Berry was named to the D3hoops.com Preseason All-American fourth team on Wednesday, and the Cowgirls will start the season next Friday, Nov. 7 at 5:30 p.m. against Texas Lutheran at home in the Mabee Athletic Complex.
